A Shellharbour mum has become an overnight millionaire after a spontaneous change in her Keno numbers led to a $1.2 million jackpot.

The New South Wales resident scored the Keno Classic 10 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 928 drawn Friday 22 August 2025 and can look forward to a whopping $1,250,434.40.

Still coming to terms with her newfound millionaire status, the elated winner spoke with a Keno official while preparing for her workday.

“I’m just getting ready for work. My partner and I are just trying to live life as normal,” she laughed.

“Believe it or not, I’m excited to go to work to get my mind off it. It’s all that I’ve been able to think about, and I’ve barely had any sleep.

“We were out with some friends when it happened, and it was completely unexpected.

“It was exciting but overwhelming. I went to my partner, ‘I think I have to go home’, so it was a bit of an early night for us.

“Normally, I always play the same usual numbers with Keno, but for some reason, I completely changed it up and picked random numbers.”

When asked how she planned to use her million-dollar fortune, the gleeful woman shared she already had plans.

“We’ll definitely buy a house. It’s a dream come true and will be great for our family,” she said.

“If we have much leftover, I’d love for us to go on a holiday.”

Her winning Keno Classic entry was purchased at Ocean Beach Hotel, 2 Addison Street, Shellharbour.
