A Roma man is struggling to comprehend the news he’s walked away from a Saturday night at the pub with an incredible $1.9 million Keno win.

The regional Queenslander held a Keno Classic 10 Spot winning entry in draw 192, drawn 6 November 2021, and scored $1,969,208.70.

Confirming his overwhelming win with an official from Keno this morning, the stunned man explained he’d been in Blackall for work when the win occurred.

“I don’t think I’ll believe it until the money is in my bank account!” he laughed.

“I’m certainly hoping it’s real.

“I played a game of Keno on Friday night and checked my ticket at the pub on Saturday night.

“I’d won a small prize, so I replayed it.

“Then a little while later, I am being told I’d won almost $2 million.

“I didn’t believe the staff in the hotel. I still don’t believe them!

“When I checked the ticket, I completely froze up.

“It’s very exciting!

With almost $2 million about to hit his bank account, the stoked winner didn’t need prompting to share his plans for his prize.

“We’d love to buy a new home,” he declared.

“I’ll certainly keep working for now and this will make things so much easier.

“It’s fantastic!”

The life-changing entry was purchased at Barcoo Hotel, 95 Shamrock Street, Blackall.

Barcoo Hotel manager Kerrie Hallam said she couldn’t believe it when they realised someone in the venue had won big.

“You beauty!” she exclaimed.

“When the win came through everyone was wondering who had been playing the 10 Spot and when the customer came forward, he thought there’s no way it could be him. But it was!

“Everyone was so excited for him. We have never had a win like this at the hotel.

“We wish him and his family every success with their newfound fortune. Congratulations!”
