A Reservoir mum who won a $9.1 million Keno prize can’t wait to brighten the festive season of her friends and family who’ve battled through a tough year.
The ecstatic Victorian held a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot winning entry in draw 544 on Friday 27 November 2020. She scored the entire jackpot prize of $6,815,227.90.
As well as winning ‘the big one’, the regular Keno player also won the 7,8 and 9 Spot Jackpots multiple times by playing the same set of numbers across the entire suite of Jackpot products.
Speaking to an official from Keno, the Melbourne mum couldn’t help but giggle with excitement over her multi-million-dollar windfall.
“Oh my god! I’m beside myself!” she exclaimed.
“This could not have happened at a better time for my family.
“It’s insane!
“When I play Keno, I always play the same special numbers. They’re my children’s birthdates, my puppy’s birthday and numbers like that.
“I always feel lucky around Christmas, and last Friday was four weeks until Christmas.
“All of a sudden, it happened! I checked my ticket. I was outside just sitting up looking at the sky. I thought I was going to have a heart attack!
“The timing is perfect. I’ve always wanted to own my own home. Now, that wish has come true.
“There’s so many people I’m going to help. I’ll buy my children a house each and help some friends who’ve been doing it tough.
“We’ve had a few hard Christmases. No one’s having a hard Christmas this year. I’m going to be their angel this Christmas!”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning Keno Mega Millions entry on the Keno app.
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 58.4 million wins collectively worth more than $776.79 million.
During this time, Keno crowned 17 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $38.72 million. Three of these major prize winners were from Victoria, including a Hasting man who was lost for words after winning a Keno 10 Spot prize of more than $2.6 million.
