A Proserpine man has admitted his jaw hit the floor as he watched his special numbers drawn one after the other and realised he’d won more than $57,000 in a recent Keno draw.

The North Queensland man held a Keno Classic 7 Spot entry in draw 112, drawn Sunday 7 May 2023, and scored $57,409.80.

“Mate, I have been in shock since I discovered this win. How good!” the winning man exclaimed when an official from Keno called to confirm his win.

“I always play my special numbers but was of the belief that I’d never hit the big one.

“It was like I was dreaming as I watched the game happen and my numbers kept popping up.

“All of them were there on the screen, and I just thought, ‘what just happened?!’.

“It’s a special moment for me.

“I honestly have no idea what I’m going to do with the win either!

“I might make a few upgrades to my car, but past that, it’s a mystery.

“It will look good sitting in my bank account anyway.”

The winning entry was purchased from Collinsville & Scottsville Workers Club, 417-19 Railway Road, Collinsville.

Collinsville & Scottsville Workers Club manager Carly Grittner said the club was celebrating one of its patrons winning big.

“It was a bit of a shock at first when we saw we had a winner.  It’s been a few years since we last had a jackpot winner and I believe this would be one of the biggest wins our venue has ever had,” she said.

“Our winner and his friends and the staff were so excited when they realised he had won.

"Congratulations! We wish him all the best!

“I’m sure our patrons will all be hoping they are the next lucky winner!”
