A Hurlstone Park man’s unwavering loyalty to a set of Keno numbers has paid off after they finally came up one by one in a recent draw and landed him a remarkable $83,000 windfall.

The Inner West Sydney resident scored a Keno Classic 8 Spot prize in draw 243, drawn Tuesday 18 July 2023 and pocketed $83,126.20.

“It’s amazing news,” he cheered when an official from Keno confirmed the newfound fortune.

“I couldn’t break out in cheer when it happened because I had to hurry off to work, so I didn’t claim it for about two days. It’s been hard to keep it a secret!

“Honestly, it couldn’t have come at a better time.

“I’ve been using the same Keno combination for 16 years now. I chose them because my son and I enjoyed the pattern.

“I’ve just persisted with using the same numbers – I never gave up!”

With more than $80,000 about to boost his bank account, the New South Welshman shared it would go towards settling some bills.

“I can clear some bills which is exciting,” he exclaimed.

“I’ll also put it towards some things associated with the house.

“Thank you so much.”

His winning Keno Classic 8 Spot entry was purchased at Hurlstone Park Hotel, 590 New Canterbury Road, Hurlstone Park.

The Hurlstone Park Hotel team wished their winning customer all the best with their major Keno win and thanked them for supporting the venue.

In 2022, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 76.25 million wins collectively worth more than $1 billion.
