A Penrith mother has shed some very happy tears after discovering she won a staggering $83,000 in one of today’s Keno draws.
The western Sydney resident scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot in draw 617, drawn Friday 26 July 2024 and looks forward to a total prize of $83,371.
“I’m still struggling to believe this is real,” the winning woman chuckled when speaking to an official from Keno.
“I’ve been playing Keno for the last 15 years and I always seem to come so close to winning but never actually do.
“When I saw all eight of my numbers matched, I just thought, ‘no bloody way’.
“I called my daughter straight away and told her ‘I’ve won $83,000! I cannot believe it!’.
“I started to get really emotional and shed some very happy tears.
“Agh, I’m still in a state of shock! It’s going to take me some time.
“I’ve decided I’ll be sharing the prize with all my children, gifting each of them around $20,000. This win is not only going to change my life, but it will change theirs too.
“We’ll be celebrating as a family tonight. Thank you!”
Her winning Keno Classic entry was purchased at Penrith RSL Club, 8 Tindale Street, Penrith.
Penrith RSL Club duty manager Jill Neill said she was so excited to hear the RSL had sold a winning entry.
“I’ve been in the industry for a long time and I’ve never had a win this big,” she said.
“Everyone at the venue was ecstatic when the win went off and we all got out of our seats thrilled.
“We send a massive congratulations to our well-deserved winner and hope she enjoys every cent!”
