A Parkes woman who confessed she only plays Keno games ‘once in a blue moon’ was flabbergasted after her favourite numbers scored her a $73,000 8 Spot prize.

The New South Wales resident held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in game 775 on Wednesday, 31 August 2022 and took home a total prize of $73,317.10.

“I was stunned – flabbergasted even!” she shared when speaking with an official from Keno.

“It’s the most I’ve ever won in my entire life.

“We go to Parkes Services Club every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. It’s a great place to hang out.

“We watch the Keno draws when we’re at the local club, but we don’t always play!

“Once in a blue moon, we’ll put an entry on Keno.

“We always use our special and favourite numbers – birthdays, ages, and so on.”

With more than $70,000 about to boost her bank account, the gleeful winner revealed she already had a few plans for her prize.

“We’d love to do some repairs around the house, pay off some bills, and buy a brand-new car!” she said.

“It will go a long way!”

Her winning entry was purchased at Parkes Services Club, 9-17 Short Street, Parkes.

Parkes Services Club duty manager Greg Phillips said the major Keno win is  amazing news for the local community.

“We’re so very excited for the winner, and of course, our local community!” he said.

“I was working when the winner won the major Keno prize, and she was over the moon!

“This is the first major Keno win we’ve had at the venue, and we can’t wait to see many more.

“On behalf of the team at Parkes Services Club, a big congratulations and we wish you all the best!”

In FY22, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 62.2 million wins collectively worth more than $896.7 million.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 38.1 million Keno wins totalling more than $497.3 million across the region in the 12 months to 30 June 2022.
