A Padstow man is relishing riding the waves of a winning streak, with his latest good fortune landing him a Keno prize worth more than $76,000.

The New South Wales player won the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot in game 900 on Sunday 29 September 2024. His total prize was $76,829.70.

“I normally play a Keno 5 Spot, 7 Spot or 10 Spot, and every time I use the same numbers. But when I play the 8 Spot, it’s a mystery pick. I just play random numbers,” he explained.

“I had hoped for a surprise, and that’s exactly what happened!

"I didn’t check my numbers. I had put the ticket in my pocket.  But then it came up on the screen that $76,000 had been won in the club, and it was me!

“Oh well, I was in tears. I was a bit overwhelmed.”

With plans to settle some bills and celebrate with loved ones, the winner reflected on his unexpected windfall.

"I had some other wins in my life that day, so I guess I was just having a lucky day. It was quite a winning streak,” he said.

“I think my kids jinxed me when I left the house that morning. They said, 'You’re never going to win!'."

The man’s winning entry was purchased at Padstow RSL Club, 24-28 Howard Road, Padstow.
