Persistence has paid off for a Pacific Pines dad, who scored a $134,000 Keno win using the same numbers he’s played since his beloved daughter was born 22 years ago.
The Gold Coast resident scored the Keno Mega Millions 8 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 252, drawn Friday 26 December 2025. He pocketed a total prize of $134,544.00.
The winner purchased his Keno ticket at his local venue but headed home early and tracked the draw using the Keno app - discovering he’d hit the jackpot just before heading to bed.
“It’s so great!” he exclaimed.
“I put a Keno ticket on at the tavern, but I had left before the draw had happened. I was ready to go to bed and then I remembered about the ticket.
“I opened the Keno app and watched the draw unfold. My numbers came up one after another, and when it got to the last number, I thought there was no way it would be mine.
“I was sitting next to my wife and had to wake her up to tell her the news. She just said, ‘Oh, that’s nice, darling!’ and went straight back to sleep.
“I don’t think she realised what I’d told her until the next morning. She was absolutely stoked the next morning and kept saying, ‘Oh my god! Oh my god!’.
“I’ve been playing the same numbers for 22 years, since my daughter was born!
“It’s been a hard couple of months, so this will really come in handy. It will go towards the business and pay off the bills.
“Thank you very much!”
His winning Keno Mega Millions entry was purchased at Pacific Pines Tavern, 8 Hotham Drive Pacific Pines.
Pacific Pines Tavern spokesperson Sharon Wynd said the team was so excited to see one of their patrons win.
“We’ve been celebrating at the venue and telling everyone we’ve sold a major Keno prize,” she said.
“Lots of people have been so excited to hear that one of our patrons has won. Everyone’s hoping it is them next time!
“Congratulations to our winner! We wish them all the very best with their prize.”
