A Woodgate woman is still in disbelief after her marked Keno 8 Spot entry scored a major prize last Friday.
The Queensland winner held a Keno 8 Spot winning entry in game 411 on Friday 15 February 2019 that scored a total jackpot prize of $64,044.80.
Speaking with a Keno official today, the woman revealed she was in shock when she witnessed her marked numbers appear on the Keno screen.
“It was absolutely amazing!” she exclaimed.
“I was just so surprised!
“At first I thought I’d won around $30,000 and I was incredibly excited about that but when I realised I’d won more than $64,000, I really couldn’t believe it.”
The woman shared she’d been playing Keno regularly and always marked her entries with numbers significant to herself and her husband.
“I always pick my numbers based on birthdays and anniversaries,” she explained.
“So when the Keno game started and my numbers popped up I knew I must have won something, but I really couldn’t believe how much!
“My husband couldn’t believe it either!
“We’re not sure how we will spend it. We’ve got some home renovations that we need to do but we would love to celebrate with a holiday overseas!”
The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning Keno 8 Spot entry at Woodgate Club, 2 Kangaroo Court, Woodgate Beach.
Woodgate Club manager Cheyenne Slatts said she was ecstatic to see one of her loyal customers win big.
“It was such an exciting moment. There were cheers and celebrations throughout the venue, it was a great atmosphere for everyone to enjoy!” she exclaimed.
“Our patrons were just as excited as the staff.
“We can’t remember ever selling such a large winning Keno entry and we can’t wait to tell all of our customers about it!
“We wish our winner all the best and have no doubts she will enjoy her prize.”
In 2018, Keno crowned 16 millionaires and multi-millionaires who took home over $5 million - six of these millionaires were very happy Queenslanders.
Queenslanders win $26 million on average each month playing the Keno in pubs and clubs around the state.
Last year, Keno sold 34 million tickets to Queensland players and gave away almost $310 million in cash prizes, including 494 individual 7, 8, 9, and 10 Spot jackpot prizes.
