A West Mackay man almost became a multi-millionaire after matching 9 of 10 numbers in one of yesterday’s Keno Mega Millions games.

The hardworking man matched nine of the 10 numbers in Keno Mega Millions game 14 drawn 11 March 2019. While he did take home an $11,000 prize, if he had matched all 10 numbers, he would’ve been more than $6.3 million richer.

Speaking with a Keno official this afternoon, the Mackay man said despite being happy he won $11,000, he still dreamed of winning millions.

“It’s good,” he admitted.

“I am chuffed I’ve won $11,000. It was a surprise!

“I realise I was one number off getting the big one though.

“Winning $6.3 million would’ve been life changing, but I still appreciate this win.”

The regular Keno player said he hoped to speak to the Keno team again soon, but this time with news he was a multi-millionaire.

“I do usually play Keno. I enjoy it!” he explained.

“Hopefully next time I win the 10 Spot!

“It’d be nice to become a Keno multi-millionaire.

“I was hoping I’d won the $6.3 million when I realised I had won something.

“I hope you call me again sometime soon and tell me I’ve won a few million. Now that would be really nice!”

The happy man shared his plans for his $11,000 Keno fun money.

“I am going to use it to go on a holiday with my family,” he exclaimed.

“It will definitely come in handy.

“It’s good because we won’t have to think about what we’re spending on this trip. We will be able to enjoy ourselves properly.

“I’ll be celebrating this win as soon as we leave Mackay for our holiday!”

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his Keno 10 Spot winning entry at Boomerang Motor Hotel, 307 Nebo Road, Mackay.

In 2018, Keno crowned 16 millionaires and multi-millionaires who took home over $5 million - six of these millionaires were very happy Queenslanders.

Queenslanders win $26 million on average each month playing the Keno in pubs and clubs around the state.

Last year, Keno sold 34 million tickets to Queensland players and gave away almost $310 million in cash prizes, including 494 individual 7, 8, 9, and 10 Spot jackpot prizes.
