A Newtown woman was happily shocked to discover what she thought was a $50,000 Keno prize was actually an $82,000 win.

The New South Wales resident held a Keno 8 Spot winning entry in game 713 on 4 July 2019 scoring a prize of $82,486.70.

Confirming her news with a Keno official this afternoon, the stunned woman recalled how she discovered her win.

“I wasn’t watching the screen so I didn’t realise I won,” she explained.

“But then I looked up at the screen and I saw someone won and I thought, ‘oh my godfather, what if it’s me?’.

So I looked it up on my phone and I thought I won $50,000 because it didn’t say how much I won.

Then I went up to the counter and the guy told me I won $82,000 and I went ‘oh my f**king godfather, you are joking?!’

“When I thought it was $50,000 I was excited, but when I saw it was $82,000 I just went crazy.

“It’s still sinking in. Oh my god!

“Honestly I can’t believe it. It’s come at the perfect time.”

When asked how she planned to use her prize, the excited woman said it would help her relax and enjoy life more.

“It will go towards some bills and I will buy some furniture for my house,” she shared.

“It’s just going to help me relax and take the pressure off.”

“It’s really awesome,” she said.

“We hope our winner enjoys her prize and we wish her all the best.

“It’s great for the hotel! We are feeling lucky.

“We hope that this helps generate more big keno wins for our patrons!”
