A Nowra man has declared he’s “walking on water” after winning more than $287,000 in Keno on the weekend.

The New South Wales player held a winning entry in draw 392, drawn Saturday 6 March 2021 and takes home a prize worth $287,571.60.

Speaking with an official from Keno this morning, the overjoyed winner relayed the moment he discovered his life had changed forever.

“I feel like I am walking on water,” he laughed.

“It’s just unbelievable! I am still shaking this excitement off.

“I just feel like the stars have aligned.

“I actually wasn’t there when the win happened. I had literally just left!

“It wasn’t until my dad called me the next day and told me about the win that I checked my ticket.

“My wife also had a ticket. She checked hers and it wasn’t a winner. Then she checked my ticket and her face just went blank. I said to her ‘what’s going on’.

“She was frozen! She couldn’t move or speak. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen!

“After a few moments, she laid on the floor but she was still silent. She was in a complete state of shock.

“It was really unbelievable! I have asked her to pinch me a lot since then. It doesn’t feel real.

“This is life-changing for us. It’s made our whole year wonderful!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, the stoked bloke held no hesitation.

“We are going to use it to build a house,” he explained.

“We did spend a little of it already though and celebrated with some of our friends!”

The winning entry was purchased at Archer Resort, Cnr Princes Hwy & Kalander St, Nowra.

Archer Resort venue manager Nathan Goode said he was ecstatic for his local winner.

“It’s great news,” he said.

“We are thrilled for the winner and wish him all the best! We’d love to send our congratulations and hope he has some great plans for his prize.

“It’s awesome when someone wins a major prize at our venue and we can’t wait to do it again.

“Good luck to all of our patrons! Hopefully they get to experience the thrill of a major prize win too.”

In 2020, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 59.9 million wins collectively worth more than $840.6 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 19 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $42.3 million.  Nine of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Newcastle woman who was stunned to pocket a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize of more than $5.4 million.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 25.3 million Keno wins totalling more than $393.2 million at pubs and clubs across the state in 2020.
