A Norah Head man has ditched his dinner plans for a joyful jamboree following the discovery of his $567,000 Keno win, admitting to generously offering celebratory drinks to the rest of the club’s patrons.

The Central Coast resident held a Keno Classic 9 Spot winning entry in draw 363, drawn Saturday 22 July 2023 and took home a total prize of $567,546.80.

This morning, an official from Keno spoke to the gleeful man, who was still bursting with excitement days after the windfall.

“It’s fantastic news! I’m so excited,” he cheered.

“We ordered steaks for dinner and just as they got delivered, we noticed the 9 Spot went off in the club.

“I started to look around and ask who else had put on a ticket with nine numbers. Then I realised, it was us who had won!

“I couldn’t eat after that. Our dinner was spoiled because we were too excited to sit down and eat.

“We opened the bar to everyone else in the club and shared the winning moment. It was amazing.

“The team members at Norah Head Bowling and Sports Club were absolutely brilliant. They made the winning experience super memorable.

“I’ve been playing Keno for a long time, and this is definitely the most I’ve ever won.

“We still can’t get over it.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his bounty, the New South Wales man couldn’t wait to embark on an overseas adventure, purchase a new car and share the remainder of the prize with his family.

“We have a trip planned to America, so we will put some of it towards that!” he shared.

“I might buy a new car and help our kids!”

His winning Keno Classic 9 Spot entry was purchased at Norah Head Bowling and Sports Club, Victoria Street, Norah Head.

Norah Head Bowling and Sports Club CEO Krystle Hatcher said she was in disbelief when she found out her club had sold a major Keno winning entry.

“I’m so proud to have our venue be involved in such a significant milestone. These are stories that you usually only hear about but not actually get to experience in your venue,” she said.

“The atmosphere when the Keno 9 Spot went off in the venue was electric and emotional. It completely changed the atmosphere in our venue when we realised someone won over half a million dollars.

“We believe this will show just what’s possible to our patrons - it’s truly the start of a winning streak!

“This is most definitely the largest winning entry for Norah Head Bowling and Sports Club, and we’re so thrilled to be part of something so significant.

“Congratulations to the winning man and we hope this prize will allow for some exciting dreams to come true. Thank you for supporting our venue!”
