A Loftus woman has admitted she’s still struggling to believe she scored a $62,000 Keno Classic 8 Spot prize on April Fools’ Day.

The New South Wales resident held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 932, drawn Friday 1 April 2022, and takes home $62,333.50.

Straight after the draw, an official from Keno called the Sydneysider, who was still processing the winning news.

“I was in disbelief when my numbers came up the screen – I still am!” she giggled.

“We were at our local club, and we were watching the last Keno game count down. I told my husband, ‘We’ve got this’.

“Next thing we knew, we won! We won the last Keno game on our ticket!

“I’ve been playing the same special numbers for years and years. They’re a combination of birthdays!

“It’s a wonderful surprise after everything we’ve been through in the past two years. It’s lovely.

“This is the highest amount I’ve ever won! It’s definitely an upgrade from my $30 win.”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her good fortune, the winner shared she was too stunned to make any immediate concrete plans.

“I don’t have a clue on what I’ll spend the money on, but I know it will go to good use,” she shared.

“I’m currently celebrating with a half glass of wine, and I’ve told a few friends and next-door neighbours! It’s amazing.”

Her winning Keno 8 Spot winning entry was purchased at Woronora RSL and Citizens Club, 118 Prince Edward Park Road, Woronora.

In 2021, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 36.2 million wins collectively worth more than $590.3 million.
