A Robina player will be spending the week celebrating an unexpected addition to their bank balance after scoring a Keno 8 Spot win of more than $64,000.

The Queensland player held a Keno 8 Spot winning entry in game 039 on Thursday 25 July 2019, and takes home $64,312.20.

However, how the Gold Coast winner plans to spend their windfall will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.

The winning Keno 8 Spot entry was purchased at RQ’s Tavern, Cnr Markeri Street & Robina Parkway, Robina.

RQ’s Tavern venue manager Phillip Bridge said he was thrilled to have made one of his customers more than $64,000 richer.

“I was extremely excited,” he explained.

“The last big win we had here must have been about six years ago when one of our customers won around $14,000.

“The staff are all so excited about this win as we get along really well with all of our customers.

“Our Keno customers are excited to know that even a small venue like RQ’s can sell a big winning Keno ticket.

“Congratulations to the winner from all the staff at RQ’s. We wish you all the best with your prize and hope you enjoy it.”

Keno spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said previous big Keno winners enjoyed their prize in many surprising ways.

“While we may never know how our latest major winner will enjoy their Keno fun money, I have no doubt they’ll enjoy every cent! I’m sure their plans for the year will change when that prize lands in their bank account,” she said.

“In the past, our winners have used their Keno windfalls to pay off their mortgages, go on overseas holidays, and upgrade their car.

“But one of my favourite winners’ stories was another recent Keno winner who used his prize to shout a round of steak dinners for the boys to celebrate his major prize win.

“However our winner chooses to enjoy their windfall we are sure it has changed their lives forever!”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 17 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $47.2 million.  Seven of these major winners were Queenslanders, including a Mackay tradie who scored a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize worth $5,167,445.

Queenslanders enjoyed more than 25.35 million Keno wins totalling more than $312.79 million at pubs and clubs across the state in the 12 months to 30 June 2019.
