A Miranda woman has spent the weekend car shopping after discovering she won a Keno 8 Spot prize on Thursday night.

The New South Wales player held a Keno 8 Spot winning entry in game 631 on Thursday 12 September 2019, delivering her $85,152.40.

Speaking with a Keno official this morning to confirm her prize, the happy woman explained how her Keno win came to be.

“I was out to dinner with my friends when I had my win,” she explained.

I wasn’t watching the draw because I was too busy chatting and eating.

“It wasn’t until I went up to scan my ticket that I realised I won.

“I was very shocked. I could barely speak!“I was stunned into silence! It’s a big shock.

“You always hope you’ll win but when it happens, it’s a very strange feeling.

“I will celebrate when the money is in my account. I will pop a nice bottle of bubbles.”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her prize, the happy woman declared she would put it to good use.

“I have spent the weekend planning how I will spend my prize,” she laughed.

“I think I will put some on the mortgage and I would love to get a new car.

“I’ve already been car shopping!”

The player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her Keno 8 Spot winning entry at Miranda RSL Club, 615, Kings Way, Miranda.

Miranda RSL Club beverage and gaming manager Jake Pearce said the venue was celebrating making one of their patrons a Keno 8 Spot winner.

“It is great to have such a big win in our venue and what a great prize for the punter,” he said.

“We saw the win flash up on the screen. Everyone was so excited and was talking about it.

“It’s created a lot of buzz and our Keno players are all very excited.

“Congratulations to our winner, we wish you all the very best.”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 17 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $47.2 million.  Nine of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Newcastle man who pocketed the biggest Keno jackpot in Australian history - a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize worth $7,898,799.30.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 34.19 million Keno wins totalling more than $472.51 million at pubs and clubs across the region in the 12 months to 30 June 2019.

About Keno

Keno is a fun game played at more than 3,400 pubs and clubs across Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT and Victoria.

A Keno draw occurs approximately every three minutes. During each draw, 20 numbers are drawn from 1 to 80. Players simply match the numbers on their entry to the numbers drawn for a chance to win over $1 million.

There are a range of Keno games to play, including Keno Mega Millions – a higher jackpot version of Keno Classic that uses the same Keno ball draw but gives players the chance to win $5 million or more.
