A Middle Ridge man has revealed he has his favourite numbers to thank for scoring him a Keno 8 Spot prize worth over $75,000 last night.

The Toowoomba local held a Keno 8 Spot winning entry in game 346 on Tuesday 24 September 2019 that scored a total prize of $75,738.50.

Confirming his win with a Keno official this afternoon, the happy man explained how he came to hold the winning ticket.

“I’m away from home at the moment and just went down to the hotel for dinner,” he explained.

“Whenever I play Keno I always pick the same numbers. They are special to me because they are numbers like family birthdates and things like that.

“I play them every time and have had a bit of luck with them in the past. I played them last night and won $60.

“I used that $60 to grab another set of games and I won on those games as well.

“I used those winnings to replay my numbers and it was on the last game I bought that I saw all of my eight numbers come up.

“I didn’t believe it! It was too late to do much celebrating last night, but I might celebrate today!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the happy winner declared he had a few things in mind.

“I’ve got a couple of things in the pipeline but I think I’ll invest most of it,” he said.

“I’ll put most of it into my super I think so I can relax in the future and enjoy it then!”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning Keno 8 Spot entry at Woodgate Beach Hotel, 195 The Esplanade, Woodgate Beach.

Woodgate Beach Hotel manager Kirsty Webb said she was extremely happy for the winner.

“We are pretty happy to have made one of our customers $75,000 richer!” she exclaimed.

“The staff member who sold the ticket said she was so excited she felt like she had won too.

“This is the biggest prize we’ve sold since new management took over the hotel in 2015. Before that the largest prize was $15,000.

“We are so happy for our customer and we wish him all the best with his prize!”

Keno is a fun game played at more than 3,400 pubs and clubs across Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT and Victoria.

A Keno draw occurs approximately every three minutes. During each draw, 20 numbers are drawn from 1 to 80. Players simply match the numbers on their entry to the numbers drawn for a chance to win over $1 million.

There are a range of Keno games to play, including Keno Mega Millions – a higher jackpot version of Keno Classic that uses the same Keno ball draw but gives players the chance to win $5 million or more.
