A Medowie couple has attributed their $98,000 Keno win on the weekend to being in the  right place at the right time to witness their special Keno numbers being drawn.

The Hunter Region residents held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in game 811 on Saturday 16 April 2022, and took home $98,352.00.

Relaying the story to an official from Keno this morning, the triumphant couple said they previously thought about changing they used on their Keno entries, but thankfully had decided to stick with the ones they knew and now loved.

“The win was an incredible Easter surprise,” they exclaimed.

“We play a little bit but have never won anything substantial. It just goes to show you have to be in it to win it, and we just happened to be at the right place at the right time.

“After thinking about changing our numbers, it was incredible to see that the ones we stuck with pop up on the screen.

“Never in our wildest dreams did we think we’d win so much!

“We just can’t wait to celebrate and share it with our family.

“We want to buy a new home and this will allow us some flexibility and freedom while we keep searching.

“We’re still in disbelief!”

The winning entry was purchased at Souths Merewether, 46 Llewellyn Street, Mereweather.

In 2021, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 36.2 million wins collectively worth more than $590.3 million.
