A Mackay man has declared his marvellous $114,000 win in a recent Keno draw has come at the most ‘perfect time’ for his upcoming family holiday.
The North Queenslander scored the Keno prize in draw 190, drawn Tuesday 28 May 2024 and looks forward to a total prize of $114,014.30.
The winning man shared he almost left the local club without putting a Keno ticket on but decided to stay a bit longer to help his friend celebrate his birthday.
“I am still in complete shock. Wow!” he cheered this morning when speaking to an official from Keno.
“What a week it has been! It seriously has come at the most perfect time.
“I was at O’Shea’s, and I was about to leave but I decided to stay back and celebrate with a friend who had his birthday.
“While we were there, I decided to put on a game of Keno, and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw my numbers come up.
“There was so much disbelief.
“I have a holiday coming up and I can use it towards that!
“Round up the family and have the best holiday!
“Thank you so much.”
His winning entry was purchased at O’Shea’s Hotel Motel, 1 Bold Street, Walkerston.
O’Shea’s Hotel Motel owner Karen Guthrie said she was very excited to see a local pick up the major prize.
“It was so exciting! Everyone started to pat the winner on the back and other patrons even got a shout from the winner to celebrate,” she said.
“It's a great feeling to have a major Keno winning entry go off at our venue, especially when we promote Keno as much as we do. To get a big win finally is amazing.
“It’s the old saying you got to be in it to win it, come true. It only takes one ticket for the chance to win big and it goes to show that even a Mackay local can win a Keno major prize!
“Congratulations to the winning man and we wish him all the best with his win. It was very well deserved and he’s just an overall bloody nice person!”
