A Raymond Terrace man is preparing for an immediate change of scenery after his Keno Mega Millions entry won him a major prize of more than $650,000.

The winning man held a Keno Mega Millions entry in draw 169, drawn Tuesday 5 April 2022. His total prize was $654,867.40.

Sharing his story with an official from Keno, he admitted his immediate celebrations had to be subdued due to his early morning work schedule, but he planned to move closer to his family as soon as possible.

“This is phenomenal. I’m absolutely stoked with this win,” he shared.

“When I saw the results I thought, ‘it couldn’t be me,’ so when I checked the ticket and realised I’d won, I was in shock.

“I was up bright and early for work this morning, so I didn’t do anything to celebrate, but I’ve had ideas on what to do running through my head since it happened.

“I’d love to move closer to my family and spend more time with them.

“This will allow me to buy a new home. It’s honestly life-changing.”

The winner purchased his Keno Mega Millions winning entry at Junction Inn Hotel, 2 William Street, Raymond Terrace.

Junction Inn Hotel Manager Drew Wedmaier said they were ecstatic to have sold a Keno Mega Millions major winning entry.

“A win this large is close to the biggest we’ve seen at Junction Inn Hotel,” he exclaimed.

“It seemed like we were just as excited as he was.

“We wish him all the best in the future and congratulations on his huge win.”

In 2021, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 36.2 million wins collectively worth more than $590.3 million.
