A hardworking Logan man is looking forward to some much-needed rest and relaxation after a business trip to Bathurst yielded him a $68,000 Keno win.

The elated winner held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 729 on Monday 19 April 2021 and takes home $68,398.50.

Speaking with an official from Keno today, the Queenslander explained how his win in New South Wales came to be.

“I was there when the win happened. I was just heading to the club to relax and fill in some time, so I decided to play a game of Keno,” he recounted.

“I was about to head off, so I went up to the counter to check my ticket and I heard a ping. I said to the lady, ‘does that mean it’s a loser?’ and she just looked at me and said ‘nope, the opposite! It’s a winner!’.

“I was blown away! I actually fell back a little and went as white as a ghost. The lady had to ask if I was okay.

“Honestly, I had a bit of a downer of a week last week, so it’s a nice change.

“I feel like I am floating on air!

“I just keep thinking, ‘gee, good things do happen!’.

“It’s just crazy because I was only in Bathurst to do some work and now I’ve won an extra $68,000, so it’s awesome!

“This is definitely worth celebrating.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his Keno fun money, the ecstatic man said he had a few things in mind.

“I have a few bills to pay, and I wouldn’t mind getting a new car,” he stated.

“There’s also a few things around the house that need fixing up, and I wouldn’t mind taking some time off to go on a holiday.”

The winning entry was purchased at Bathurst RSL Club, 114 Rankin Street, Bathurst.

Bathurst RSL Club marketing manager Janneke Van der Sterren said the venue was in celebration mode after helping deliver a major win to one of their patrons.

“It’s fantastic that someone came into the club and walked away with an extra $68,000,” she said.

“We wish our winner all the best and hope he can use his prize to relax and enjoy himself.

“It’s always great when someone wins a big prize at the club and we can’t wait to do it again.”
