A Lockhart man has had the surprise of his life after a spur-of-the-moment decision to add a Bonus to his Keno ticket turned a $10,000 win into a sensational $50,000 prize.
The Riverina resident scored a Keno Classic win with a x5 Bonus in draw 677 on Friday 31 October 2025. He can look forward to a thrilling $50,000.
Still coming to terms with his incredible windfall, the winning man shared his disbelief when speaking with a Keno official.
“It still hasn’t sunk in yet!” he said.
“I’m just waiting to see the money first, then it’ll feel more real.
“I’ll play Keno now and then, but the funny thing is, I don’t usually choose to play Bonus. I had a couple of extra bucks, so I thought, ‘Why not?’.
“Who would’ve thought it would change my win from $10,000 to $50,000. It’s pretty awesome.
“I actually had no idea I’d won because I just got a KwikPick. It wasn’t until I checked my ticket, and the venue had to ring up the Keno customer service, that I realised.
“I’ve won about $300 before. That was probably my biggest win up until now.
“I can’t believe it. It’ll help me buy a house. Thank you so much.”
His winning Keno Classic entry was purchased from Lockhart Ex-Servicemen's Club, 87 Green Street, Lockhart.
Lockhart Ex-Servicemen's Club manager Bronwyn Anderson said she was ecstatic to see a regular local take home the club’s biggest ever win..
“I couldn’t believe it at first! We’ve never had a winner of this size before, so it was such an exciting surprise,” she said.
“Once our staff member realised how much had been won, both he and the lucky patron were in complete disbelief! It’s not every day you get to share news like that with a local regular.
“This is our biggest win ever. Our largest win before this one was way before my time when we sold a winning Keno ticket worth $11,000.
“We know our customers will be thrilled for him. He’s a young local who works in town and supports the Club regularly. It’s wonderful to see one of our own take home such a big win!”
