A Lilyfield man has revealed he’s had to slap himself in the face a couple of times to ensure he isn’t dreaming after scoring a Keno Mega Millions 8 Spot prize worth over $113,000.

The Sydney player held a Keno Mega Millions 8 Spot winning entry in game 544 on Monday 9 November 2020 and scored $113,145.40.

When speaking to a Keno official this morning, the stoked bloke explained how he came to hold the winning numbers.

“It’s surreal! I keep having to slap my face to make sure I’m awake!” he exclaimed.

“It’s just amazing!

“I popped into the club on Monday and put on some Keno.

“The next day, I had 20 minutes to kill so I thought I’d better check my ticket.

“When I went to the counter and checked it, and they told me I’d had a big win, I thought it would be a couple of thousand dollars or maybe even $10,000!

“When they told me it was over $100,000, I couldn’t believe it. I was in tears.

“I’ve been playing those numbers for years. I put them on many moons ago and I have just kept them rolling throughout the years.

“I still can’t believe it. I’m in shock.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his Keno fun money, the loving dad said he would use it to help his family.

“Honestly, it has just come at the best time for my family and me,” he said.

“With everything that is going on, it’s nice to have a bit of a buffer.

“I’ve got three teenagers to look after so this will help with things like driving lessons and sports activities and things like that.

“When we can travel overseas again, I’ll use it to visit some family.”

The thrilled winner confessed he couldn’t wait to surprise his wife with the good news.

“I called my wife after I found out and told her we weren’t cooking tonight and that I was taking her out for dinner,” he said.

“She told me I sounded weird and she knew something strange was happening.

“I said ’I’ll tell you later, but something weird is happening – but it’s good weird!’.”

The player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning Keno Mega Millions 8 Spot entry at Club York, 95-99 York Street, Sydney.

Club York venue operations manager Nathan Mills said he couldn’t be happier for the winner.

“The team is so excited!” he said.

“We’re stoked to have sold a major Keno prize and we can only imagine how happy the winner would have been when he discovered the news.

“All the best to our winner! We hope he enjoys his prize. I am sure it’s made for a great end to the year.

“It’s great to see a major win in our venue and we can’t wait to do it again!”
