A Gorokan woman has proved that lightning can strike twice, winning her second Keno Classic 9 Spot prize – this time a windfall of more than $269,000.

The Central Coast player held a Keno Classic 9 Spot winning entry in game 568 on Sunday 13 December 2020 worth $269,079.40.

Confirming her win with an official from Keno this morning, the regular player said she was still in disbelief.

“I’ve won a Keno Classic 9 Spot prize before – four years ago!” she laughed.

“So incredibly, this isn’t the first time this has happened!

“I was very excited when I realised I’d won and I can’t believe I’ll have it just in time for Christmas.

“I plucked the numbers out of thin air. They weren’t particularly special but they will be now!

“I’m so thrilled. I am absolutely over the moon.

“I can’t believe this has happened again.”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her prize, the Central Coast resident said this Christmas would be unforgettable.

“It’s arrived at such a perfect time,” she said.

“I have family all over the world, so I will certainly be sharing it with them.

“It really takes the stress off, that’s for sure. It’s an amazing feeling!”

The winning Keno entry was purchased at Wallarah Bay Recreation Club, 40 Wallarah Road, Gorokan.

Wallarah Bay Recreation Club venue manager Sean Newman said they were celebrating having one of their patrons score a major Keno prize.

“I was excited and a bit of shocked too. I couldn’t believe the 9 Spot jackpot winning ticket was purchased at our venue,” he said.

“It’s been quite some time since our last big Keno win. We’ve had a few 7 Spot jackpots, but to be honest I don’t think we’ve ever had a major 9 Spot winner.

“The venue had a good buzz once it was revealed on the Keno screens. Immediately patrons and staff were all talking about it.

“We wish our winner the very best with their prize!”

Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 58.4 million wins collectively worth more than $776.79 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 17 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $38.72 million.  Ten of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Newcastle woman who was stunned to pocket a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize of more than $5.4 million.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 26.69 million Keno wins totalling more than $386.39 million in the 12 months to 30 June 2020.
