A spur-of-the-moment last-minute decision to change a set of Keno numbers has led a Raby man to a sweet $289,000 win.
The Sydneysider held a Keno Classic 9 Spot winning entry in Keno draw 946, drawn Wednesday 29 March 2023 and took home a total prize of $289,809.60.
“It’s crazy – the most I’ve ever won,” he exclaimed.
“I played 9 numbers on my Keno entry and at the very last minute I decided to change my last number.
“The next thing I knew, the last number that I had changed it to had come up!
“This will help me achieve so many things.
“I can pay off my mortgage, and some upcoming bills.
“I’m going on a holiday next week, and at the end of the year too!
“It’s great timing!”
His winning Keno Classic 9 Spot winning entry was purchased at Raby Tavern, Cnr Spitfire and Hurricane Drive, Raby.
Raby Tavern licensee Josh Brisigotti said the major Keno winning entry has created a buzz in the local Raby community.
“I was amazed to hear about the major Keno win! It’s something you don’t believe would happen in your venue. I couldn’t be happier for the winner and their family,” he said.
“The locals were going crazy, and it was all that being talked about in the venue. It’s definitely sparked a thrill here at the Raby Tavern.
“It’s been over seven years ago since we’ve had a major Keno win. The last one we had was a $10,000, so it’s bound to happen!
