After playing Keno together for years, a pair of Kingscliff neighbours are in celebration mode today after finally scoring a $305,000 prize on the weekend.

The Northern Rivers region players held a Keno Classic 9 Spot winning entry in draw 50 on Saturday 26 February 2022. Their total prize was $305,084.10.

Sharing their excitement with an official from Keno this morning, one half of the winning duo explained they’d had a weekend to remember.

“I love playing Keno. I always play with my neighbour. We’ve been playing together for years and years,” one of the winning women shared.

“We were out for our friend’s birthday, so I was actually cutting a birthday cake when the win happened.

“I’d heard people talking about a major Keno win at the venue, but other people around us were also playing the 9 Spot, so I wasn’t very confident that we’d won.

“I ran up to the counter to check our ticket, and that’s when they told me we’d scored the prize. I started cheering, and everyone around me came up to congratulate us.

“We were very, very happy. I was pretty excited about it all, but my neighbour was much calmer about it.

“We went back home after that and celebrated into the night with a few drinks.

“We’re going to use our prize to pay off some bills and then we’ll save the rest for our future retirements. It’ll certainly help us a lot.”

The pair’s winning entry was purchased Kingscliff Beach Bowls Club, 131 Marine Parade, Kingscliff.

The Kingscliff Beach Bowls Club team are thrilled for their winners and wish them all the best with their prize.

In 2021, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 36.2 million wins collectively worth more than $590.3 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 13 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $31 million. Six of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including Crescent Head neighbours who was pocketed a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize of more than $5.8 million.
