After playing the same combination of special dates for years, a Kallangur man’s favourite nine numbers has delivered him a $150,000 Keno win.

The Queensland player held a Keno Classic 9 Spot winning entry in draw 239, drawn Sunday 4 July 2021 and takes home $152,859.90.

Confirming his prize with an official from Keno this morning, the man relived how his win came to be.

“I have been playing those nine numbers since Keno started,” he explained.

“They’re all family birthdays and other special dates.

“I’ve had eight out of nine about three times so I knew I was getting close to getting all of them!

“I was at the tavern at the time of the draw, but I wasn’t looking at the screen.

“But then I looked up and saw someone in the venue had scored a massive prize.

“I knew straight away that there was a pretty good chance it would be me.

“When I checked my ticket, I was so happy!”

With more than $150,000 about to hit his bank account, the Moreton Bay Region man had a few ideas of how he’d be enjoying his Keno windfall.

“I’m certainly due for a new car, so that will be the first thing,” he declared.

“I’ll keep working for now, and I will put the rest towards my retirement fund.

“It will definitely take the pressure off!”

The winning entry was purchased at Kallangur Tavern, 1517 Anzac Avenue, Kallangur.
