A Clermont man is planning to go on a romantic Italian getaway with his wife after scoring a Keno 7 Spot prize worth over $62,000.

The central Queensland man held a Keno 7 Spot winning entry in game 78 on Friday 12 July 2019 that scored a total prize of $62,510.20.

Confirming his win with a Keno official this morning, the man explained how his win came to be.

“I am really, really good,” he laughed.

“I was in the pub watching some sport and then I saw the numbers come up on the other screen.

“When I saw my numbers come up, I felt good! It was pretty exciting.

“I celebrated that night. I had a few drinks and then went home and took my dog for a walk. It was good.

“I am going to go away this weekend as well and celebrate with my family some more.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, the central Queensland man said while he would need some time to think, he did have some ideas.

“I am going to put some in the bank and share some with my family,” he explained.

“I also would love to go to Italy for a holiday with my wife.”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning Keno entry at Leo Hotel Motel, 16 Capella Street, Clermont.

Leo Hotel Motel owner Les Boal owner said the venue was celebrating making one of their regular customers more than $62,000 richer.

“It’s great! He’s a regular here, so it was awesome to see him have a win,” he said.

“Oh my word it was fantastic when we saw the win come up. There were high fives all round and everyone was screaming!

“The vibe was infectious! Everyone was so happy.

“We’re thrilled for our winner and wish him all the best.”

In 2018, Keno crowned 16 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $36.47 million.  Six of these major winners were Queenslanders.

Queenslanders won $25.87 million on average each month playing Keno in pubs and clubs across the state.

Last year in Queensland alone, players bought 34.76 million Keno tickets and won $310.64 million in cash prizes, including 494 individual 7, 8, 9, and 10 Spot jackpot prizes.
