A Nundah dad is struggling to fathom becoming an instant multi-millionaire after a random after-work stop at his local hotel landed him a life-changing $2 million Keno win.

The North Brisbane resident scored the Keno Classic 10 Spot jackpot in draw 838, drawn Tuesday 19 May 2026. He looks forward to a total prize of $2,026,759.60.

The winning man struggled to piece his words together while speaking to an official from Keno earlier this morning.

“It’s all a bit overwhelming. I’m in so much shock,” he laughed.

“I’m sort of lost on what to do next!

“My friend and I had just finished a job nearby, so we stopped at the Prince of Wales Hotel before heading home. While we were there, I put on a game of Keno.

“I pulled my Keno ticket out of my wallet, and we checked it against the winning numbers. At first, I thought I’d won a much smaller prize.

“Then we realised I’d won $2 million, but it just didn’t sink in. We kept saying to each other, ‘What? No! That can’t be real, can it?’ and going back and forth in disbelief!

“I’m totally shocked.”

While still coming to terms with his newly acquired multi-millionaire status, the Queensland dad started running over a couple of plans he had in mind.

“It’s come at the most perfect time. I will definitely help out my kids and their future,” he exclaimed.

“I will also pay off some bills and on-going expenses.

“Once it’s in the bank account, we will go out and celebrate!

“Thank you!”

His winning Keno Classic 10 Spot entry was purchased at Prince of Wales Hotel, 1154 Sandgate Road, Nundah.

Prince of Wales Hotel spokesperson Nick Stein said they were thrilled one of their patrons had scored a major Keno prize.

“After our patron won, the excitement in the venue was infectious – it felt like we had all won,” he said.

“There’s nothing more exciting for the team than seeing one of our patrons take home a huge prize. We’ve been celebrating ever since.

“We congratulate our winner and have absolutely no doubt they’ll enjoy their Keno fun money.”
