A Dubbo woman has confessed she spent the night walking around her house buzzing with excitement after discovering she won more than $62,000 in a recent Keno draw.

The News South Wales resident scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 254, drawn Thursday 26 September 2024, and looks forward to a total prize of $62,506.90.

When officials from Keno called to confirm the life-enhancing prize, the stunned woman shared she felt like she was dreaming and hoped her morning coffee would help her grasp reality.

“It’s wonderful!” the gleeful woman cheered.

“I’m still so surprised I won!

"You always hope to win the jackpot, but never expect it to really happen.

“This win could not have come at a better time as I’ve been needing to upgrade my car for a while.

“You wouldn’t believe it, but I was up all-night walking around the house buzzing with excitement.

“I just kept saying to myself, ‘sixty-two thousand dollars! sixty-two thousand dollars!’. It’s hard to wrap my head around it all!

“I haven’t been able to sleep at all.

“It feels like a dream that I don’t want to wake up from.

“Maybe once I have my morning coffee it might start to sink in!

“Thank you for the amazing news.”

The winning entry was purchased at Macquarie Inn Hotel Motel, Wheeler Lane and Birch Avenue, Dubbo.

Macquarie Inn Hotel Motel venue manager Taylor Hind said they were thrilled one of their patrons had scored a major Keno prize.

“After our patron won, the excitement in the venue was infectious – it felt like we had all won,” she said.

“There’s nothing more exciting for the team than seeing one of our patrons take home a huge prize. We’ve been celebrating ever since.

“We congratulate our winner and have absolutely no doubt they’ll enjoy their Keno fun money.”

In FY24, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 78.5 million wins collectively worth more than $1.16 billion.

During this time, Keno crowned 18 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $46.7 million.  Eight of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Shelly Beach dad who scored a $5.92 million windfall.
