A Carina man has admitted he was just about to pack up and head home when he checked his weekly Keno entry and discovered he’d bagged a shocking $65,000 prize.

The Brisbane man scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot in draw 388, drawn Friday 5 April 2024, and took home a total prize of $65,710.70.

“I’m feeling great, mate!” the elated winner laughed when an official from Keno called to confirm his prize.

“We had a pretty quiet weekend but we managed to fit in a nice dinner to celebrate the prize.

“It was really just a run-of-the-mill Friday afternoon for me!

“We always put our special numbers on whenever we’re at the club, and Friday was no different.

“I don’t ever watch the draws though, so it’s a bit of a mystery whenever I check my ticket.

“As we were ready to leave, I noticed one of the Keno screens flash up a major win at the club and I thought, ‘well, I don’t think that will be me.’

“I went to check the entry anyway and when I realised I’d won the 8 Spot my jaw hit the floor.

“I didn’t think this could ever happen! You certainly don’t expect it to happen to you.

“It’s really going to set me up, allow me to pay off some debts and prepare for the future.

“It’s going to be a great help!”

His winning Keno Classic 8 Spot entry was purchased at Carina Leagues Club, 1390 Creek Road, Carina.

The Carina Leagues Club team said they were over the moon for their winning customer and wished him all the best for the future.
