An Ipswich man is heading straight to the travel agent to plan a celebatory holiday after discovering he won more than $140,000 in Keno on Monday evening.

Local resident Donald Evans held a winning entry in Keno game 675 on Monday 6 May 2019 that scored a total prize of $144,000.

Donald admitted seeing his win flash across the screens was ‘indescribable’.

“I saw the win come up on the screen – that’s the most exciting part of it,” he laughed.

“It was just amazing. I was so happy!

“When I realised what I’d won I thought ‘heck yeah!’.

“I’ve got a bit of age about me, but I was pretty lively when I saw the win.

“Everyone at the venue erupted when they heard. They were all so happy for me.

“The level of excitement I feel is quite enormous. I couldn’t actually imagine I’d ever win that amount of money.”

Donald matched 12 numbers on his 15 Spot entry. He also played Keno Bonus, which tripled his prize.

Mr Evans explained how he had already begun dreaming about how he is going to use his Keno prize.

“We have a few ideas and dreams, but we will decide properly when the money is in my account,” he shared.

“I think we will get a new car and we might go on a holiday, possibly to England in the summer.

“I want to party and have a bit of fun with everyone too.”

The Queensland man purchased his winning Keno entry at Raceview Hotel, 99 Raceview Street, Raceview.

Raceview Hotel venue manager Dylan said he was thrilled to see a local win such an amazing Keno prize.

“We were thrilled when we saw he won. We’ve been celebrating ever since!” he said.

“It is amazing. The prize couldn’t have gone to better bloke!

“He is a local here and he is a very deserving winner.

“We hope we deliver more big wins to our patrons soon!”

In 2018, Keno crowned 16 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $36.47 million.  Six of these major winners were Queenslanders.

Queenslanders won $25.87 million on average each month playing Keno in pubs and clubs across the state.

Last year in Queensland alone, players bought 34.76 million Keno tickets and won $310.64 million in cash prizes, including 494 individual 7, 8, 9, and 10 Spot jackpot prizes.
