Keno lightning has struck twice for a Merewether man who has won two major prizes in two months – with the latest prize boosting his bank balance by more than $58,000.

The Newcastle resident held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 432, drawn Friday, 9 September 2022 and took home a total prize of $58,020.90.

Speaking with an official from Keno, the merry New South Welshman admitted he was struggling to come to terms with the news he’d won again.

“It’s extraordinary! I’m still trying to get over it!” he laughed.

“One of my mates came running up to me at the club, and he said to me, ‘You play eight numbers in Keno, right? The Keno 8 Spot went off!’

“I couldn’t believe it. I was very excited.

“I’ve played the same set of Keno numbers for years, and I’m not sure why I chose them in the first place.

“The numbers are obviously working in my favour because this is my second major Keno win in two months!

“About a month ago, I’d won roughly $46,000 and now $58,000!

“They do say good things come in threes – maybe I’ll have another major Keno win soon.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his fun money, he shared it would go towards planning a holiday.

“I’d love to go on a holiday with a group of friends down the coast,” he said.

His winning entry was purchased at South Newcastle Rugby League Club, 46 Llewellyn Street, Merewether.

The South Newcastle Rugby League Club team are overjoyed to have sold a major Keno entry to a local customer, and wish them all the best with their prize.

In FY22, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 62.2 million wins collectively worth more than $896.7 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 19 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $30.7 million.  Seven of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Sydneysider who picked up a $3.1 million windfall on Boxing Day while holidaying in Lake Macquarie.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 38.1 million Keno wins totalling more than $497.3 million across the region in the 12 months to 30 June 2022.

Keno players can also enter into the monthly second chance draw for the chance to win one of five $1,000 prizes by scanning their ticket at win.secondchance.keno.com.au.
