A group of three mates have started March with a bang after a Keno game they played for a ‘laugh’ delivered them a $50,000 Keno win.
The New South Wales friends scored a Keno Mega Millions prize in Keno draw 901, drawn Sunday 2 March 2025 and can look forward to a total windfall of $50,000.
The triumphant trio revealed how the win came about when an official from Keno called to confirm the news.
“It’s great!” one of the winning men said.
“It was three of us that played together. We were catching up Sunday afternoon and put some games on.
“It’s a funny story. We were looking at the Keno tickets and the different ways to play, and as a laugh, we went for the 40 Spot where you play 40 numbers.
“Then it turned out to be a good idea. Somehow, only one out of our 40 numbers appeared so we won $50,000.
“Would have been even better if we got zero numbers! We would have won half a million dollars.”
When asked how they planned to use their newfound fun money, the winning trio said they’d let it sink in before making any concrete decisions.
“Not sure yet. I haven’t thought about it,” he said.
“I know one of the guys said he’ll use it towards some renovations but other than that, we’ll wait and see.”
Their Keno Mega Millions winning entry was purchased from Picnic Point Bowling Club, 124 Lambeth Street, Picnic Point.
