A selfless Swansea man has been immediately rewarded for his volunteer efforts, scoring an incredible $1.2 million Keno win, just three weeks after pocketing $10,000.
The Lake Macquarie resident scored the Keno Classic 10 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 975 on Sunday 16 November 2025. He can look forward to a total prize of $1,289,234.60.
When an official from Keno called the happy man, he shared the remarkable story behind his winning streak.
“It’s a funny story, actually! I have two sets of numbers that I always run,” he said.
“I’ve used them both for a long time now - at least 25 years.
“It was about three weeks ago that I scored nine numbers on my 10 Spot ticket and won about $10,000.
“On the day of the big win, I was doing some volunteering work, and I ducked in to have a break. I put my numbers on and on the very first game of the ticket, it won. The very first game!
“If there was even one person in front of me or I’d gotten there a little later, I wouldn’t have won.”
Despite his newfound fortune, the hardworking man said he wasn’t planning to slow down.
“I still showed up for work on Monday, and I’m here today,” he laughed.
“It’ll just make life easier for our family. It’s amazing.”
His winning Keno Classic entry was purchased from Swansea Hotel, 196 High St, Swansea.
Swansea Hotel licensee James Bailey said he and the team were over the moon to sell a Keno jackpot winning entry.
“I couldn't believe it! I told the team as soon as I heard, and they were just as excited!” he laughed.
“We’re celebrating by spreading the word to all our patrons, pointing at the Keno screens as soon as the win pops up.
“Congratulations to our Keno jackpot winner! We wish you the very best and cannot thank you enough for being part of our community.”
