A Belmore man was left floating on cloud nine after a psychic prediction manifested into reality when he bagged more than $2.5 million in Keno.

The New South Welshman scored the Keno Classic 10 Spot jackpot winning entry in draw 62, drawn Thursday 12 September 2024 and took home a total prize of $2,594,264.30.

The newly-minted millionaire took a little longer to discover his newfound fortune as the ticket was unregistered, which means officials from Keno had to wait for the winner to scan their ticket and come forward.

The gleeful man was still reeling with excitement when a Keno official reached out to him this morning.

“I’m feeling good! I’m feeling 10 years younger!” he laughed.

“I’m on a walk right now, looking out at nature and I feel like I’m floating on air!

“I’m ecstatic. I’m over the moon. It’s life-changing.

“I saw a fortune teller when I was a lot younger, probably over forty years ago now, and she told me a few things.

“She said ‘You’re going to be comfortable your whole life. You’re a hard worker with a great work ethic that will take you far!’. She also said, ‘One day, you will win a great deal of money on Lotto or something similar!’.

“I’m superstitious. I do believe in those things, and I truly think things happen in mysterious ways!

“Now look. Everything she said has been true for me.

“Thank you so much. I’m going to help my children as much as possible.

“I’ve also got a holiday booked for next year which I’m really looking forward to now.”

The Keno Classic 10 Spot winning entry was purchased from St George Hotel, 618 Canterbury Road, Belmore.

St George Hotel team licensee Atiporn Laorat said the team were overjoyed to have sold a major prize-winning Keno entry.

“It’s great news for our club! Everyone is very excited,” she said.

“We sold a $10,000 winning Keno entry about a month ago, but it’s been a long time since we’ve had a prize of this magnitude.

Congratulations to the winning man and we wish you all the best with your prize.”

In FY24, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 78.5 million wins collectively worth more than $1.16 billion.

During this time, Keno crowned 18 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $46.7 million.  Eight of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Shelly Beach dad who scored a $5.92 million windfall.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 40.3 million Keno wins totalling more than $588.5 million across the region in FY24.
