A Newcastle man has checked out of his Kirra holiday $328,000 richer after a recent Keno jackpot win.
The New South Wales resident scored the Keno Classic 9 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 887, drawn Tuesday 19 May 2026 and pocketed a total prize of $328,260.70.
When an official from Keno spoke with the winner, he was still coming down from his holiday high.
“I’m very good this morning. It was a big shock last night!” he laughed.
“We went out for dinner because it was our last night of our holiday.
“While we were there, I put on a game of Keno, and I won $9 so I just replayed my ticket with another nine games on it.
“Afterwards we had dinner, so I didn’t see the draw. I checked my ticket and I actually thought the machine was broken at first.
“Next minute, the team member said, ‘You’ve won!’. It was that noisy in the pub. I couldn’t hear what was going on.
“Finally, we realised how much I’d won and my wife and I just started crying.
“It’s really going to help us a lot. We’ll be putting it straight to retirement. A few years back, I had some health problems, and it really set us back.
“Thank you so much! What a great present to head back home with.”
His winning Keno Classic entry was purchased at Kirra Beach Hotel, Cnr Marine Parade & Miles Street, Kirra.
