Denman is suddenly aflush with a new group of winners after eight locals walked away with an $80,000 Keno 8 Spot prize.

The Upper Hunter Region residents held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 434, drawn Saturday 19 February 2022. Their total prize was $83,398.40.

This morning, an official from Keno reached out to one of the winning members, who was still reeling from the excitement.

“We’re still in shock! It’s just a dream come true!” she cheered.

“The team member who told us that we’d won $80,000 always jokes around with us, and we honestly didn’t believe it at first. We thought he was pulling our leg.

“Initially, I said to him, ‘Oh, you’re joking!’. It was such a wholesome moment. Everyone in the venue came over to congratulate us. We even had hugs from other patrons.

“We played eight numbers in the game because it’s a prize shared amongst the eight of us! We like to play together all the time.

“I’ve been having some sleepless nights ever since discovering the win. The other day, I woke up in the middle of the night just laughing because I knew I’d won!

“I think it’s still sinking in!”

When asked how the group of eight planned to enjoy their share of the prize, the winning woman said it would help everyone in smaller ways.

“Well, I know for a fact I’ll be putting my share of the prize towards some house renovations! I need to do some things around the house,” she shared.

“For the other seven, I believe they’re still deciding on what they’ll do with the prize. But I know it will go towards good use.

“We will have to all go out and celebrate the win over some dinner once the prize lands into our bank accounts!”

The winning Keno Classic 8 Spot entry was purchased at Denman RSL Club, 42 Paxton Street, Denman.

Denman RSL Club team member Debbie Squires said the venue was radiating with excitement since the Keno 8 Spot prize was won.

“It’s been two years since we have sold a major winning entry in Keno, so this is very exciting for us and our local patrons.

“Congratulations to our eight local patrons and we wish them all the best with their prize!”

In 2021, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 36.2 million wins collectively worth more than $590.3 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 13 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $31 million.  Six of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including Crescent Head neighbours who was pocketed a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize of more than $5.8 million.
