An Edmonton man has confessed he wasn’t watching the draw and didn’t give himself a ‘hope in hell’ of winning before he discovered he’d bagged more than $1.2 million in a recent Keno draw.
The Queenslander scored the Keno Classic 10 Spot jackpot in draw 170, drawn Thursday 25 January 2024 and took home a total prize of $1,263,863.80.
“Mate, I’ve been playing these numbers for five years and I just believed I had to stick with them,’ the winner laughed when an official from Keno called to confirm his win.
“It really was a run-of-the-mill Thursday for me. I’d just headed down to catch up with a mate and put on a couple of games.
“We weren’t even watching the Keno draw!
“Then we noticed a bit of a commotion, and someone told us there’d be a big win of ten numbers.
“I thought, ‘oh, I’ve got ten numbers.’
“So, I waited until it had all calmed down and checked my ticket.
“I think I nearly passed out!
“I can’t tell you what the future holds but I know I want to go on an overseas holiday and then set myself up as much as I can.
“It’s amazing! Thanks so much.”
His winning Keno Classic 10 Spot entry was purchased at Fuller Sports Club, 24/32 Armstrong Street, Edmonton.
The Fuller Sports Club team said they were over the moon for their winning customer and wished them all the best for the future.
