A Beaudesert retiree has revealed he’s in a state of shock after watching his favourite nine numbers appear on the Keno screen, delivering him a $543,000 win.

The Queensland player held a Keno Mega Millions 9 Spot winning entry in game 530 on Wednesday 22 January 2020 and takes home $543,042.60.

Confirming his win with a Keno official this afternoon, the man said he was in disbelief.

“It hasn’t sunk in,” he eventually managed.

“I think I’m in shock. I think I’m definitely in shock.

“I’m just trying to stay calm. I can’t believe it.

“I’ve been playing the same numbers for more than 20 years and I was just watching the game live and saw my numbers appear one by one, when I got to nine numbers I realised I’d won.

“I had a big win on Keno with those numbers in 1995 in New South Wales and I’ve been playing them ever since!

“They’ve certainly delivered for me today!”

When asked how he’ll enjoy his Keno windfall, the retiree said he wouldn’t be making plans right away.

“Oh gosh, I really don’t know,” he laughed.

“I’m in such a state of shock.

“I’ll have to let this news sink in and then think about it!”

The winning Keno Mega Millions 9 Spot entry was purchased at Beaudesert RSL Services Club, 23-25 William Street, Beaudesert.

Beaudesert RSL Services Club CEO Sharon Cullen said she was overwhelmed with joy for her regular patron.

“It’s incredibly exciting to see this big win land at our venue,” she said.

“We’re absolutely over the moon for our winner. He was completely in shock.

“It’s great to see this huge prize go to a local.

“We hope this is the beginning of many more.”
