A pair of Crescent Head holidaymakers’ have enjoyed more than just some sun and sea on their vacation after taking home a $25,000 surprise Keno prize.

The New South Wales players held a winning entry as part of the $1 Million Rush cash blitz on Monday 29 July 2019, scoring them a $25,000 prize.

Until 11 August the $1 Million Rush promotion gives Keno players the chance to win a share of $1 million, with more than 44,800 bonus cash prizes every week, including a weekly $25,000 cash prize.

Speaking with a Keno official this morning to confirm their win, the couple relayed their astonishment at becoming $25,000 richer.

“We are very, very good!” the winning man laughed.

“We were out for dinner and decided to play a bit of Keno so I bought a 4 Spot entry.

“I heard someone had won $25,000 in the club but I had no idea I had even entered into the promotion, so I didn’t think it was me.

“When I went up to the counter later to check my ticket, they said I won, but I thought the machine must have been broken.

“When they told me I definitely did win, I got very excited!

“It was definitely a shock.

“We’re on a holiday, so it’s a nice holiday surprise. It definitely made it even better.”

When asked how they planned to enjoy their prize, the pair admitted they would use it to help their family.

“We are going to help our family out a bit,” he explained.

“I’d also like to go on another holiday for a few weeks.

“We love going away so this gives us another excuse to take some time off.”

The players, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their entry at Crescent Head Country Club, 1 Rankine Street, Crescent Head.

Crescent Head Country Club acting secretary manager Michael Baker said he was thrilled to have heard one of his customers had won $25,000.

“We are extremely excited!” he said.

“I am very happy for the winners and we wish them all the best.

“We have had a few big Keno winners here before, so hopefully we keep on making our patrons happy winners.

“Bring on the wins!

“It’s great news for Crescent Head and definitely creates a buzz.”

About Keno

Keno is a fun game played at more than 3,400 pubs and clubs across Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT and Victoria.

A Keno draw occurs approximately every three minutes. During each draw, 20 numbers are drawn from 1 to 80. Players simply match the numbers on their entry to the numbers drawn for a chance to win over $1 million.

There are a range of Keno games to play, including Keno Mega Millions – a higher jackpot version of Keno Classic that uses the same Keno ball draw but gives players the chance to win $5 million or more.
