Maryborough’s newest major Keno winner might be completely unaware they won more than $65,000 in a recent draw, with officials urging players in the area to check their tickets.

The Fraser Coast player held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 74, drawn Tuesday 6 September 2022 and takes home a total prize of $65,575.60.

However, the player has yet to check their ticket and discover the windfall.

The winning Keno Classic 8 Spot entry was purchased at Old Sydney Hotel, Cnr Ellena and Richmond Street, Maryborough.

The Old Sydney Hotel team hopes to soon deliver the exciting news to their elusive winner and is over the moon to have sold a major Keno prize.

Keno spokesperson Anna Hobdell said she was encouraging all players who purchased a Keno entry at Old Sydney Hotel to check their tickets as soon as possible.

“Someone out there could be holding a winning ticket worth more than $65,000 and not even realise it!” she said.

“We’re urging all Keno players from the region to check their tickets today – you could be holding the winning entry!

“Imagine discovering you’re the winner we’re searching for. A major prize would certainly put a spring in your step.

“Past winners have used their prizes to purchase cars, renovate their homes, or go on trips around Australia.

“If you discover you’re holding the winning Keno Classic 8 Spot ticket, hold on to it and head into your closest venue as soon as possible so we can start the prize claim process!”

In FY22, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 62.2 million wins collectively worth more than $896.7 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 19 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $30.7 million.  Eleven of these major winners were Queenslanders, including a Roma man who walked away with $1.96 million after a night out in Blackall.

Queenslanders enjoyed more than 17.8 million Keno wins totalling more than $271.5 million at pubs and clubs across the state in the 12 months to 30 June 2022.
