A Gold Coast resident or visitor has scored more than $2.2 million in a recent Keno draw but may be completely unaware of their newfound fortune.

The mystery player held a Keno Classic 10 Spot winning entry in draw 540, drawn Tuesday 6 August 2024 and pocketed a total prize of $2,210,940.50.

Officials from Keno have no way of contacting the winner to break the exciting news and must wait for the ticketholder to check their ticket and come forward.

The winning Keno Classic 10 Spot entry was purchased at Arundel Tavern, 226 Napper Road, Arundel.

Arundel Tavern general manager Dowell Williams said he and the team were absolutely ecstatic for their mystery winner and hoped they would check their ticket soon.

“When I was first informed our venue sold a major winning entry, I had to go see it for myself!” he said.

“The atmosphere in the venue was electric! All my local patrons who were playing the 10 Spot rushed to the kiosks to check their tickets to see if it was them.

“We wish the winner all the best with their prize and the best of luck with their future endeavours; hopefully, they come forward soon!

“Thank you to everyone for your support. We’re now a venue that has sold a multi-million-dollar ticket, so come on down and try your luck!”

Keno spokesperson Khat McIntyre said she was encouraging all players who purchased a Keno entry at Arundel Tavern to check their tickets as soon as possible.

“Someone out there could be a newly made multi-millionaire and not even realise it!” she said.

“We’re urging all Keno players from the region to check their tickets today – you could be holding the winning entry!

“Imagine discovering you’re the winner we’re searching for. What would you do with this major prize?

“Past winners have used their wins to purchase cars, put a house deposit down, or go on a much-needed holiday.

“If you discover you’re holding the winning Keno Classic 10 Spot ticket, hold on to it and head into your closest venue as soon as possible so we can start the prize claim process!”

In 2023, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 67.31 million wins collectively worth more than $1 billion.

During this time, Keno crowned 21 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $51.5 million.  Seven of these major winners were Queenslanders, including a Kallangur man who won $8.45 million after scoring the Keno Classic and Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot jackpots in the one draw.

Queenslanders enjoyed more than 21.79 million Keno wins totalling more than $349.14 million at pubs and clubs across the state in 2023.
