After spending months in lockdown, a Chatswood grandad is planning to use his $89,000 Keno windfall to reunite his family for Christmas.

The Sydney resident held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in game 952 on Wednesday 20 October 2021 and takes home $89,807.20.

Confirming his win with an official from Keno this morning, the happy man explained he had his grandchildren to thank for his prize.

“I always play the same eight numbers,” he explained.

“I have eight grandchildren and they are all their birthdays, so it’s a very special win.

“I was out last night and I was watching the screen, looking at the numbers appear and knowing I only needed one more to win.

“Then the last number popped up!

“I couldn’t actually believe it.

“It’s the second time I’ve had a decent win with these numbers. The last time was $44,000 at the beginning of the year!”

When asked how he thought he’d enjoy his Keno fun money, the family man declared this Christmas would be the best one in years.

“I am going to use it to bring the family together for Christmas,” he declared.

“We're spread out right across the country and we've all been apart for so long, so it will be incredible to be together.

“It honestly couldn’t have happened at a better time!”

The Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry was purchased at Chatswood RSL Club, 446 Victoria Avenue, Chatswood.

In 2020, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 59.9 million wins collectively worth more than $840.6 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 19 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $42.3 million.  Nine of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Newcastle woman who was stunned to pocket a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize of more than $5.4 million.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 25.3 million Keno wins totalling more than $393.2 million at pubs and clubs across the state in 2020.
