A Canberra couple unwrapped an early Christmas surprise after scoring $62,520.10 in a recent Keno draw.

The winning pair held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 600 on Friday 22 December 2023. They pocketed $62,520.10.

“It was very good!” the winning man exclaimed when a Keno official confirmed his prize.

“Me and the wife go to the club regularly and every time we go, we play two or three games of Keno.

“We use the same numbers – we’ve got birthdays and family numbers.

“We usually use the numbers and put on a 10 Spot, 8 Spot and 7 Spot. We’ve won the 7 Spot before, years ago, and now the 8 Spot has come up!

“It was a wonderful start to Christmas.

“Apart from upgrading the car, we want to use the prize to help our family – that’s our first priority.”

The winning entry was purchased at Southern Cross Club Jamison, Cnr Catchpole and Bowman Streets, Macquarie.

In FY23, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 95.42 million wins collectively worth more than $1.34 billion.
