A generous Cairns man is ready to spread the love this Christmas after scoring a magical Keno win of more than $100,000 in a recent draw.
The Queensland resident scored the Keno Mega Millions 8 Spot jackpot in draw 618, drawn Saturday 21 December 2024. He pocketed a total prize of $109,804.70.
The surprised winner was still in shock when speaking to a Keno official this morning, revealing it was a spur-of-the-moment decision to play Keno.
“I haven’t let my ticket out of sight!” he laughed.
“It’s incredible. It was honestly so unexpected because we never play.
“We only played because we were catching up with some friends and they were delayed so we decided to just chuck some Keno on!
“We used family members birthdays and other special numbers and then the rest was history.
“We’re doing some renovations at the moment, so it’s going to be very helpful.
“We’re going to help my brother out who’s saving for a house deposit. It was just so unexpected, so we thought let’s pay some good karma forward.
“Christmas can be a tricky time of year so it’s great we can share the love.
“Thank you so much!”
His winning entry was purchased from Dunwoody’s Hotel, 317 Sheridan Street, Cairns.
Dunwoody’s Hotel venue manager Oliver Starling said the team was happily sharing the excitement with their major Keno winner.
“What an incredible win for our patron! It’s always great hearing these winning stories and now we have another one to share with our patrons,” he said.
“We’re thrilled for our customer, and we hope to see more Keno winners in our venue soon.
“Congratulations to them. We have no doubt they’ll be enjoying their prize!”
