A Burrum Heads man has spent the weekend celebrating after discovering he won a Keno prize of $274,000.

The Fraser Coast resident held a Keno Classic 9 Spot winning entry in draw 71, drawn 29 October 2021, and scored $274,832.50.

However, how he plans to enjoy his Keno fun money will forever remain a mystery as he has chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.

The winning entry was purchased at Burrum Heads Bowls Club RSL, 189-201 Burrum Heads Road, Burrum Heads.

Burrum Heads Bowls Club RSL Assistant Manager Leeanne Wellington said it was the biggest Keno win they’d celebrated.

“It was so exciting!” she said.

“It was amazing to see the win had appeared on the screen and to know that someone in our venue had won that prize.

“We hope it’s the beginning of plenty more big wins for our patrons.

“Congratulations to him!”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 19 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $43.69 million. Eight of these major prize winners were from Queensland, including a Gladstone man who won a Keno Classic 10 Spot prize of $2.16 million.

Queenslanders enjoyed more than 25.35 million Keno wins totalling more than $312.79 million at pubs and clubs across the state in FY21.

Keno players can also enter into the monthly second chance draw for the chance to win one of five $1,000 prizes by scanning their ticket at win.secondchance.keno.com.au.
