A Bribie Island man explained how he went ‘completely numb’ when he discovered he won a Keno Mega Millions 8 Spot prize on the weekend.

The Queensland player held a Keno Mega Millions 8 Spot winning entry in game 224 on Saturday 7 September 2019 that scored a total prize of $132,467.30.

Confirming his win with a Keno official this afternoon, the happy man explained how he discovered his win.

“I was out for the afternoon with my wife. We were having some lunch and playing some bowls,” he explained.

“I went up to check my ticket and I saw on the screen there had been a winner.

“I had a feeling it was me and then when I scanned my ticket, I found out it really was me!

“I just went completely numb.

“It was such a shock! I have been waiting for a win.

“We celebrated that afternoon. We had a few drinks and some more food. It was great!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, the stoked bloke thought of his family first.

“I need to have a think about what I will do with the win,” he shared.

“I would like to go on a holiday with my family and also buy my daughter a car.”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning Keno Mega Millions entry at Bribie Island Bowls Club, 23/11 Welsby Parade, Bongaree.

Bribie Island Bowls Club duty manager Dannielle Chaplin-Melville said the venue was celebrating selling a major Keno winning entry.

“We were thrilled when we found out,” she said.

“Our winner is a regular and we are all so happy for him!

“All of our patrons are ecstatic we’ve had a win. It’s great for the venue and the patron.

“Congratulations from everyone at the club to our winner. We are so excited for you.

“We hope we sell more major prize-winning entries to our patrons soon.”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 17 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $47.2 million. Seven of these major winners were Queenslanders, including a Mackay tradie who scored a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize worth $5,167,445.

Queenslanders enjoyed more than 25.35 million Keno wins totalling more than $312.79 million at pubs and clubs across the state in the 12 months to 30 June 2019.
