A Blackheath player will be spending the weekend celebrating a dramatic and unexpected addition to their bank balance after scoring a Keno 9 Spot win of more than $262,000 during an afternoon at their local golf club.
The New South Wales player held a Keno 9 Spot winning entry in game 957 on Thursday 30 May 2019, and takes home $262,258.60.
It was the biggest Keno prize won in New South Wales yesterday.
However, how the Blue Mountains winner plans to spend their life-changing windfall will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
The winner purchased their winning Keno 9 Spot entry at Blackheath Golf Club, Brightlands Avenue, Blackheath.
Blackheath Golf Club manager Jacob Mcandrew said it was a Keno win they’d never forget.
“It’s really great to see such a big win land in our small club and it’s even better when it goes to a local patron,” he said.
“The staff and the winner were really in shock yesterday and the celebrations certainly continued into the night.
“We’ve never had a Keno win that big here so we won’t be forgetting it any time soon!”
Keno spokesperson Lauren Cooney said there was no doubt this winner had an unforgettable day on the green yesterday.
“While we don’t know if this Keno player’s golf skills are up to scratch, we do know they had the perfect swing yesterday and hit a hole-in-one playing Keno,” she said.
“Although we might never know what our latest major winner planned to do with their Keno fun money, I’ve no doubt they’ll enjoy every cent!
“In the past, our winners have used their Keno windfalls to pay off their mortgages, shout their friends and family dream holidays, and upgrade their cars.
“But one of my favourite winners’ stories was another recent Keno winner who used their prize to buy a vintage Incredible Hulk comic – something he’d wanted to add to his collection ever since he was a kid.
“However our winner chooses to enjoy their windfall, we are sure it has changed their lives forever!”
